What's Playing on my iPod

When I was in college, one of our marching band shows showcased the music of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. I recently rediscovered my album and have been listening to it all the time. I really want to try to arrange a children's version of "Spinning Wheel." Wouldn't that be funny!

What I've Just Netflixed

I happened to find this title quite by accident. Songcatcher is set in the early 1900's in the Appalachians. On a trip to visit her sister who is starting a school in a rural area, a music professor discovers the beauty and undisturbed songs of the area. She begins collecting them for a song book to be published under her name and discovers the area has more to offer than just its music. Aidan Quinn and Janet McTeer star with Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera) making her debut. The music is beautiful and made me really miss my Grandma.

What I'm Reading Right Now

I ordered the first book in this series, The Maze Runner, based on a recommendation from Barnes & Noble. I started reading the first book and loved it, so I got the second book, and jumped right in. It's set in the future and follows the trials of several young men and a young woman in a post apocalyptic society, The young people have been chosen to be part of an experiment that will help the human race. Too bad the kids weren't told it's an experiment.
